Chuck Hemrick has been performing in bands since he was a teenager, when his family performed at churches around his Winston-Salem home. As he grew older, he had his own band in high school, and later with his wife and two children was the patriarch of the Hemrick Family Singers. Hooked on old-time and bluegrass music since his school days when his parents took him to see Charlie Monroe at a tent show, Hemrick is still playing the music he fell in love with at an early age, even though he’s the only family member still involved in music. He’ll be inviting friends and welcoming strangers as well to join him each week as he leads the music in the breezeway.
