Asheville Sessions Videos

OKeh Record’s 1925 Asheville Sessions held at the Vanderbilt Hotel in Asheville, NC, was an important event in the birth of American Music. This event preceded the famous Bristol Sessions by 2 years, and planted the seed for that seminal event in country music.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Asheville Sessions, some of the recordings were remastered and released on Rivermont Records “Music from the Land of the Sky: the 1925 Asheville Sessions.”  The producers of The 1925 Asheville Sessions album believe this project underscores that if Bristol was “the Big Bang of Country Music,” then Asheville “lit the fuse.”
