SUPPORT MOUNTAIN MUSIC

Donate to the Blue Ridge Music Center

Gifts to support programming at the Blue Ridge Music Center are vital to keeping the sounds of the mountains alive at this major attraction on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Your donation will help ensure that the Deep Roots, May Voices: Summer Outdoor Concert Series, Midday Mountain Music, exhibits, and additional programs can continue telling the story of the rich musical traditions of the region. See below for many ways to show your support.

Family Fun Day

Join us for a free Family Fun Day for all ages, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Music Center. Activities include performances by youth and mentor bands, an instrument petting zoo, a youth jam, museum scavenger hunt, art activities, and guided hikes.

The day wraps up with a free concert by Grammy Award winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer in the indoor theater. Their superb harmonies are backed by instrumental virtuosity. The two are trailblazers in children’s music and have been connecting families through tunes for more than 30 years.

Lighting Project

Band performs before a audience at the outdoor amphitheaterHelp the Blue Ridge Music Center “Light Up the Stage” with new cost-effective, energy-efficient LED lighting.

The Music Center’s stage lighting currently operates with outdated Par 64 lamps that require lots  of energy and wear out quickly. They are difficult and expensive to replace because  the bulbs are no longer manufactured and can only be purchased on the secondary  market.

This lighting is no longer sustainable.

We need to purchase LED fixtures and converters to brighten our stage and provide  more sustainable and energy-efficient lighting for years to come.
