The Blue Ridge Music Center houses several music venues where you can tune into the sounds of our region: an outdoor amphitheater, indoor theater, and a covered breezeway. No matter the venue, you’re in for a treat.
YOUR MOUNTAIN MUSIC SOURCE
A MUSIC VENUE WITH ROOTS
Outdoor Amphitheater
Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the outdoor amphitheater is a magical, natural venue. Enjoy live music by bluegrass, old-time, blues, folk, and Americana artists from across the region and country with the mountains as a breathtaking backdrop.
Concertgoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs to sit on the grass, on paved areas, or along the rock walls in the terraced section. The terraced area includes paved sections that are wheelchair accessible. Leashed dogs are welcome on the hillside beyond the rock walls. Concerts go on rain or shine, and there is no covered seating.
The amphitheater is outfitted with a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system to create an exceptional musical experience. The audience capacity at this venue is approximately 2,500 people. Concert tickets are available in advance online and at the gates.
Indoor Theater
The intimate indoor theater at the Visitor Center hosts fall concerts and special events, such as educational talks and presentations. This venue seats up to 115 people. There are no bad seats in the house!
The Breezeway
In the covered breezeway that connects the Visitor Center and indoor theater, you’ll find the live Midday Mountain Music sessions. This series features regional musicians.
You’re invited to take a seat, listen to tales and tunes, and enjoy the cool mountain air. Midday Mountain Music is played from noon to 4 p.m. every day the Music Center is open.
